Nike’s Launch: Nike’s half marathon for women in the mid-2000s was ICONIC. Tiffany & Co. necklaces as finisher medals…top of the line race swag…AMAZING. The race series was sunset, and now - has kind of returned. The After Dark Tour is a global event series for women with a featured stop in LA. Check it out/register HERE.

✅Icy Walks: This year, less than 10% of the Great Lakes is iced over - unfortunately, a new record for the 5 Lakes. Walking on the lake ice, at any time of the year, is incredibly dangerous. While the woman & dogs in the story below got off the ice unscathed - beware of the dangers. Shelf ice is gorgeous to observe and may appear solid, shelf ice is inherently unstable. In many places shelf ice cannot support a person’s weight. Sudden shifting and breaking of the ice make it especially hazardous. Never step onto shelf ice.

✅Ice Skating in the Wild: Yes, when it comes to adventurous wintery activities, there’s backcountry skiing, snow shoeing, fat tire biking - but have you heard of Nordic Skating? Essentially, it’s ice skating on frozen, unmaintained lakes ‘in the wild.’ Definitely a bucket lister if you like adventure + cold temps!

✅Frozen Bumper Cars: We can’t really say that white water rafting in the winter time is something that we’re going to be first in line to do - but MAYBE it is after seeing this video. Looks SUPER fun.

✅Coffee Gainz: Coffee + cycling goes hand-in-hand like a cold Coke + century ride. Specialized and the GOAT of espresso machines - La Marzocco, collab’ed to create a one-of-a-kind e-bike and espresso machine. We need this in our hometown. 😛
