Week 26

Usually, drama at the Team USA Olympic Trials is reserved for the 100s, steeplechase and hurdle events. This year, the nail-biter has been the 5000m Women’s Finals, separated by 2 thousandths of a second, Elle St. Pierre broke the tape with Elise Cranny a close second, and Karissa Schweizer (we love a Midwest girlie), following up in third. This video won’t disappoint - promise.

Race Results of the Week

Tidbits

✅Snoop Dogg’s New Career: Snoop is much more than a legend in the studio; he’s now a legend on the mic for his Olympic commentary career. Recently, he’s been seen announcing the Olympic Trials Steeplechase - just a tease for what’s to come later in July.

✅Banditos: Competing in the Olympic trials is reserved for the most elite of athletes; either kids repping a strong collegiate running program, or donning a sponsor singlet. Now, the ‘common man’ is much more…well…common at the Trials. We’re rooting for the athletes that show up every day, despite having full-time jobs, a family, and no sponsors; we love scrappy runners.

✅Knee Who? Less than 6 months after having knee surgery, The Queen of the Hep, Anna Hall, wins at the Trials - with a PB (PR?), no less. Slaaaay, Queen.

✅The DoggFather: Not only is Snoop an endurance sports commentator now (imagine him calling you across the line at an IM), but he’s also keen on ‘racing’ the 200M - he may not have been first, but he had the best outfit on the track.
