Week 32

If you’ve watched even an hour of Olympics coverage - there’s no doubt, there’s awe-inspiring stories around every corner, in every sport, of athletes overcoming incredible adversity to make it to the start line - let alone the proverbial finish line, of their respective sport.

Watching Kristen Faulkner slingshot herself around the competition, taking it wide with 3 KM to go in the road cycling Olympic event - whizzing by pro cyclists who have undoubtedly spent more hours on the bike than off, is absolutely incredible. She looks like a seasoned cyclist, someone that could’ve been favored to win gold - except she isn’t and she wasn’t. With less than 10 years of cycling under her belt (actually - she didn’t even KNOW how to ride a bike until her adult life), and a surprise Olympic berth - she took home the first gold medal for Team USA Cycling in DECADES.
