Week 37
The Leadville 100 Mile RUN is an iconic ultramarathon that starts in Leadville, CO, summits a 14er and then turns around to run right back home. Being a lottery-based event, and only accepting about 800 people each year, very few athletes get to take on this insane challenge.
Most Youtubers/influencers are super cringy when it comes to tackling challenges and filming things âin the wild.â Kara and Nate are one of the exceptions to that; this couple started travelling the world (and documenting it!) during their honeymoon and justâŚdidnât stop. Their content often includes tackling very unique, physical challenges - and lo & behold, the Leadville Bug bit Nate. This movie-length Youtube video (filmed in 4K), deserves a special showing on your Big Screen at home. We promise youâll be hooked after watching this video (both on Leadville & Kara and Nate).

Post of the Week:
No - this is not a real LEGO set, but we wish it was. Weâd have it sitting on our desk in no time.

Tidbits
Shoe Nerd turned UTMB Champ: Most endurance athletes topping the podium at any UTMB race usually DONâT have another highly-technical full-time job. Frenchmen Vincent Bouillard is a do-it-all kind of guy; running to the W in the trail super shoe he helped to design, heâs a HOKA engineer by day - stud runner by weekend.
â The REAL Debate: If youâre American - you know that tonight, the biggest debate of the year is on deck: Trump vs. Kamala. But in the endurance world, debates still rage on, with no clear winnersâŚread more HERE.
â Earthing: Earthing, grounding...whatever itâs called, jury is still out on if itâs a bunch of pseudoscience, or has actual health benefits. Even if the benefits havenât been scientifically-proven, walking barefoot is going to bring out your inner child and connect you with your environment. This park in Belgium takes it to the next level; with an entire trail that is meant to be tackled barefoot.
â EPIC, Ultra Fail: You know what they sayâŚâthose who can; do, those who canât; race direct?â Race directing is a vocation for athletes that want to make a quick (and never easy) buck or make a name for themselves in endurance sports; but it never goes as planned. From experience, race directors need to be extremely organized, diligent and down to do the boring, thankless tasks like permitting and attending town hall meetings. If you want to read about a complete EPIC fail for an ultra race director in New York - this article is for you.
