Week 38
This weekend, the women of IRONMAN will compete in Nice, France at the World Championship. With a strong field of returners, including 2023âs champ - Lucy Charles-Barclay, it really is anyoneâs day. One notable athlete who will NOT be returning to this field (ever, for that matter), is Daniela Ryf - who announced early retirement just a few weeks ago.

Tidbits
Lost Lands: The amount of public land that exists under federal and state jurisdiction kind of ebbs and flows over time; land gets âtakenâ for government or private use, and land gets donated by rich people - the cycle continues. Right now, in Utah, more than 18.5 million acres are at risk of being seized by the government for the fuel industry. See how you can help preserve this land for outdoor recreation.
â Old Ladies Saving The World: The Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage (OLAUG) is a club forâŚyou guessed itâŚsenior citizen women that work together to clean up bodies of water (lakes, ponds, ocean harbors, etc.) from trash. After, they host their version of tea time and serving warm beverages and homemade cookies. This is what makes us excited about aging - that and reaching an easier age group bracket.
â Fine Dining in the Outdoors: Thereâs being a foodieâŚthen thereâs being an endurance athlete foodie. Spare yourself the Barilla pasta and treat yourself to an incredibly unique experience; five-star farm-to-table dining, in a LITERAL creek in the Tennessee hills. Weâre geeking out.
