Week 23
Under Paris will make you want to cancel any plans to swim in saltwater (or freshwater), for the next couple of years. With Paris Olympics on the horizon, the launch of this shark-frenzy horror film is no coincidence. Like the triathlon geeks we are, weâre left wondering if all the b-roll in the film is custom, or if they snagged it from an actual triathlon. Let us know what you think after you watch the trailer.
In this weekâs email:
Win $20,024: Guess the results accurately for NCAA Outdoor Track&Field Nationals, win big!
Olympic Trials: Review the status of entries for T&F Trials - Sydney is in 3x events: simply, incredible!
đListen to a Cadence-recommended Pod: With the way the world is right now; everywhere you turn on the internet, thereâs a new âexpertâ or âcoachâ in some obscure niche of the world. Endurance sports is no different; if youâre in this world, youâve no doubt caught the uptick in armchair experts in your respective sport. It might feel like everyone has their 2 cents on what you should do with your training (or your life, for that matter) - but remember - this is your journey. This podcast is a great way to remember to be resilient and do whatâs best for YOU.
Post of the Week:
Elopement as part of a pre-race ritual?? Eek.
Race Results of the Week
Tidbits
â Dinner Suggestion of the Week: As close as you can get to a gourmet 1-pot pasta meal; Baked Caramelized Onion Pasta. Pair with a side of broccoli or another dark leafy green for some nutrients. YUM.
â Bike Across TheâŚWORLD?!: Lael Wilcox is starting an 18,000 MILE journey across the GLOBE, on her bicycle. Pushing off from Chicago, IL (not really where our first choice is - but we digress), she will spin around the globe (weâre not sure how ocean crossings are working, but weâre intrigued to see). Follow her journey on her daily podcast HERE.
â Internet Trolls: Daniela Ryf is the GOAT of triathlon. Donât try to change our minds, either. Sheâs also the GOAT of the internet clapback. When armchair experts decide to weigh on things they know nothing about, like proper bike fit, Daniela always hits back with zingers; and honestly, weâre here for it.
