Mom Guilt: Moms are often the center of the family dynamic; the holder of the kidâs school & social schedules, the personal chef for the house, the maidâŚall while (statistically) working a full-time job on top of that. Moms donât have the luxury to just pop out for a 4 hour ride, or a 10 mile long run on Saturday morning. Thatâs why Moms Rule The World. And now - Mom Guilt is on itâs way out of the endurance world. More than ever, weâve seen moms top professional and elite podiums, and find a way to juggle work-life-kid balance beautifully.
If youâre finding yourself making excuses for why you canât get out and prioritize working out, setting endurance goals, and chasing race finish lines; know that youâre not alone. Hereâs our humble advice to you: MAKE time for yourself & the endurance goals youâve set. The dishes can wait. The kids can eat a frozen pizza tonight. Life will go on - and youâll be stronger for it.
In this weekâs email:
XC Skiing ASMR: Switch up your treadmill watch party and enjoy the wintery Norwegian country side.
Running-Life Balance Masterclass: A 48-hour trail run & a newborn; which takes precedence?
MTB Hype Event: Philly in March isnât great for a lot - but IS home to a pretty kick-ass cycling expo. Kick the winter blues and get hype for the 2024 outdoor cycling szn by attending one of the longest-running cycling expos in the USA!
The Hipster Bike Bag: If youâre into gravel or MTB cycling - you know that FASHION is everything. Donât forget your bike saddle choices; ORNOT bike bags are cute, functional; giving all the vibez.
đListen to a Cadence-recommended Pod: Ken Rideout was dubbed Worldâs Best Marathoner Over 50 by The New York Times. His story is both inspiring and humbling - a GREAT way to get over (almost) Hump Day.
Des Lindenâs, Dogs of the (Olympic USA Marathon) Trials Party:
Sports At-Large: Random Happenings from not just endurance sports
GM Plant changes shift time for Lions fans to watch the game. The Lions may have lost this past Sunday; but the Lions Family (team and fans) are the grittiest in the NFL - no doubt about that.
Shaun Whiteâs rise to fame started when he was just 6 years old; being dubbed The Flying Tomato because of his crazy red hair, heâs the first (and so far - only) snowboarder to have 4 medals in snowboarding, participating in 5 Winter Olympic Games.
IRL Cinderella Story: Samantha & Austin Ames - ahem - Travis Kelce & Taylor Swift are making front page after front page with their PDA, All-American looks and being the TRUE power couple of the year.
Tidbits

â Kenyaâs FIRST XC Skier: In a country where the average temperatures hover around 75 degrees year-round, youâd be right in thinking that skiing isnât a common past time. Ashley Ongong is breaking barriers by becoming the first Kenyan to chase her Olympic dream as XC skier.
â PTO Announces the â24 Tour Dates: Without further adieu (and a 4 month wait), the Professional Triathlete Organisation announces the calendar, the athletes in play, and the stops along the way; including one in London.
â Racing is BACK: A RunSignUp report just announced that endurance racing is only down 1% from 2019; weâre left wondering is it because of the economy and expensive race fees, or people turning their attention elsewhere?
â Olympic-Hopeful Debutants: The Marathon Trials are nearly upon us for the dozens of Americans that qualified. Being hosted in Orlando this year, race strategy is going to be the name of the game; finding the perfect balance of speed, saving energy, and managing heat-related variables is key.
đBucket List Recs
Big training week behind ya and want to add something to your bucket list? Need something to kick your butt into high gear? Check out our endurance bucket list recs below and sign up for something youâll probably regret when youâre doing a 20 mile training run in August in the Midwest.
Aussie Gravel Riding: The iconic orange roads of âThe Outbackâ in Australia make not only for epic photos - but epic riding. Pack your bags (and your bike) and take to some roads that we can nearly guarantee none of your other cycling buddies have attempted.
Runyon Canyon: If you're like us and love celeb gossip, trash reality TV ANDDD endurance sports - maybe add Runyon Canyon to your âsoftâ bucket list. Yah, itâs not exactly an endurance feat, but if you want to catch a celebrity like any of the Kardashians or Orlando Bloom, out in the literal wild, this hike is for you; itâs short, sweet, got great views, and you have a great chance to see some celebs out on the trail.
Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Run: Tackle the Mighty Mac on Labor Day - and be one of 600 people to tackle the 4.3 mile run across the bridge that spans between the Upper & Lower Peninsulas in Michigan. We promise - the sunrise is EPIC.
Performance Of The Week(end): Aidan Hutchinson in Lions vs. 49ers.
