Sub 3:00 hour marathons, sub 5:00 minute miles, finishing a 140.6 as an official IRONMAN; these are the impossible dreams that people set out to achieve every day. Many will fail, many will give up without really getting started. What will you choose to do?
In a society where instant gratification, paying for what you want, and looking for the easy way to success is the freaking norm; these impossible dreams are ones that canât be bought, and perhaps, thatâs what makes them so special when you achieve them.
This video is for all the athletes, hopefuls, and dreamers that have tried a million times, and failed. Trust us, itâs worth it to get back up and just keep moving forward.

A running date? We could NEVER.

Tidbits
Strava Segments: Strava continues to be the social media platform of choice for runners, cyclists, and my Mother-In-Law. Not only can you now slide into the DMS of your favorite runner, but you can also have bragging rights for the strangest segments. We love to travel, and have mixed feelings about DIA (Denver International Airport), but who can resist a .10 mile (YES 1/10th of a mile) segment named âGate Change Gnar.â Are you the next Local Legend?
â Tri Hards? The New York City Triathlon has been a mainstay in the short-course triathlon community for decades. Infamously, something always seems to steer the NYC Tri off-track. COVID, cancelled swims, massive flooding, and extreme heat have all left their mark on the Big Apple tri scene. Now, in 2024, itâs a race you WONâT see on the calendar for this season.
â°ď¸ Itâs The Climb: Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana (weâll never get over this âduoâ) never ceases to surprise us. Her Grammys speech, wild music vids and divorce from Americaâs Sweetheart, Liam Hemsworth, were all blindsides. But did you know that MC is also a HUGE hiker and an avid lover of all things outdoors? She might not be one of us - but she IS an endurance girlie.
đĽPickle Juice: YES; youâve seen the pickle juice shots at Ultra aid stations, finish lines, and being hawked on the side of marathon courses. But unless you love the taste of pickles, why should you drink it during an endurance event or training session?
â Mourning a Marathoner: Kelvin Kiptum, along with his coach, passed away tragically in a car accident on February 11. Coming from humble beginnings, and quickly racking up a long list of endurance accolades, his life ended before he hit his stride. Our thoughts are with those individuals that had the opportunity to know and to meet Kelvin.
đBucket List Recs
Big training week behind ya and want to add something to your bucket list? Need something to kick your butt into high gear? Check out our endurance bucket list recs below and sign up for something youâll probably regret when youâre doing a 20 mile training run in August in the Midwest.
Kid-Focused Outdoor Family Trips: Kids are WAY more resilient than you think, and most definitely more adventurous than you are. Donât stop travelling with them; take them with you on these kid-friendly outdoor adventures. We promise youâll be the cool parents for a while.
Garlic Festival Half Marathon, 10K & 5K: Garlic is a food group. Donât come for us on that; itâs just a fact. This race takes place during the Oregon Garlic Festival, where garlic is EVERYWHERE and in EVERYTHING. We wonât suggest doing this race if youâre pregnant - unless youâve been craving garlic salt.
Baltimore Running Festival: Raise your hand if youâve tossed a race medal recently? Join the club. The BRF has undoubtedly the coolest medals, year after year. Crabs on a medal? Say less.
On his (future) home track; the University of Notre Dame, no less!!!
